Braised Chicken

Scrolling through Instagram, I came upon this Braised Chicken dish that looked ideal for Sunday dinner.

The video made it look easy and the caption said that the recipe would be in the linked bio.

Turns out, the recipe was nowhere to be found but it was too last as I had already taken some prep steps. Anyway, I decided to forget ahead and the final dish came out perfect.

I was cooking for 5 pax with the additional intention of having some left over for meal prep.

Boneless Chicken Thigh (i used 1.6 kg plus minus) marinated with

Grated ginger

1 tbsp Chinese Xiao Shing Wine

Salt & Pepper to taste

Marinate for 30 min or more.

For the sauce

2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

1 tbsp Oyster Sauce

1 tbsp Xiao Shing Wine

1 tbsp honey

500 ml water

Mix the sauce ingredients together.

COOKING

Fry the marinated chicken Thigh until brown on both sides, then add the sauce and simmer down for another 5 to 10 min. I prefer my sauce thick so I allow the sauce to reduce until I get my desired thickness.

You’re ready to serve. Goes well with rice.
