I was in a restaurant the other day and ordered steak. The waiter strongly suggested I try the fish instead. He said that the fish would come with 5 additional side dishes for a total of 6 dishes.
Being my first time there, I followed his suggestion and went for the fish.
Then the waiter said I had to pay first and that my first side dish would be ready in 30 minutes. I paid for the fish plus tax. Then I settled down to wait. After 30 minutes, there was still no fish or even a single one of the 5 side dishes.
I called the waiter over and asked him about it. He went to the kitchen and came back with a picture of the fish on a plate and said the chef was applying the finishing touches.
An hour later, my fish and 5 sides still had not arrived. I called the waiter over so that I could get to the bottom of this fish fiasco. I told him that I felt like I was being scammed here. At the very least, 1 of the side dishes should have come out and been served.
The waiter continued to assure me that a dish would be out very soon and that the money I had paid had not been wasted.
A hungry man is a weak man. Hopefully, I still have enough strength to ward off any external threats such as covid or influenza etc in my weakened condition while I continue to wait for my fish and 5 dishes.
What do you think? Will I get my fish dish? Or have I been conned of my money? Should I give this restaurant one more chance in the future?
